Apple Party

We had a very busy Friday as we celebrated the letter A with an apple party.
We started the day off with a story about a little boy who was tired of playing with all his toys and wanted a new adventure. The little boy asked is mommy if she knew of something fun for him to do and she replied, "I want you to find a round red house with no windows and doors and a star inside." The little boy had never heard of such a thing but was intrigued by the request and went off to find the house. At the end of the story the little boy finds himself in an apple orchard and discovers that the apple was the answer to his mommy's  riddle.
A red round house with no windows no doors AND

A STAR inside!!!!!!!

After the story our class had a taste test with red and green apples. . . We discovered that 10 of our classmates liked the red apples and 12 of our classmates liked the green apples. Make sure to look for our awesome apple graph next week; Mrs. Bailey will be sure to put it up in the hallway.

For a special apple snack we also made applesauce from all the apples you guys brought from home; it was delicious!!!!!!

Here's how we did it if you want to make it at home:
Cut & Peel about 10 large apples (we did almost 20)
Place chopped apples in crockpot - put on high
Add 1/2 cup to 1 cup water or apple juice
Stir and Smash as they cook
Add sugar and cinnamon to taste

Enjoy!
